Identification
Dentalyse™ is a UK based molecular testing service offering detection and identification of periodontal pathogenic bacteria using the micro-IDent® and micro-IDent® plus tests from Hain Lifescience.  All 11 common periodontopathogenic bacteria can be detected permitting the dentist to make an informed decision on the use of an appropriate antibacterial agent. As a semi-quantitative test, micro-IDent® and micro-IDent plus can also be used to monitor the patient's response to therapy over time and detect any suspected recolonisation of the dental pocket. Up to 4 individual dental pockets can be analysed each time, providing a detailed profile of each specific site. Alternatively up to 5 samples can be combined to provide a more cost-effective screen of a patient's total oral flora. Testing is performed at a UK based laboratory with results generated and returned to the dentist within 5 days of receipt of the patient's sample.
